What the listing and teasers show
India Today reports that a Geekbench listing carries the model number Xiaomi M786BC. It shows scores of 2,705 in single-core and 9,885 in multi-core tests, along with 16GB of RAM and Android 17. Redmi has said the phone runs HyperOS 4.
The listing points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the same chip as last year's Redmi K90, according to the outlet. It has two cores at 4.32GHz, six at 3.53GHz and an Adreno 830 GPU. The K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which launched in China in August, use the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Gadgets 360 adds that Redmi has teased a second colorway, Snow Rock White, which the brand says has a "paper-like" finish. The phone was earlier shown in a green option with a glass back. India Today names that color Firefly Green, while Gadgets 360 calls it Fluorescent Green.
Why it matters
The standard K100 would carry a bigger battery than the higher-priced Pro models in the same line. That is an unusual ordering, and it makes battery capacity the main selling point of the series. Pairing the cell with last year's chip rather than the newest one suggests Redmi is trading peak performance for endurance in this model.
The Geekbench scores come from a pre-launch listing and may not reflect final retail units.
What to watch next
The first thing to confirm is the actual launch date, since the sources differ by a day. After that, the official China price will show whether the 3,500 yuan estimate holds. Pre-orders are already open in China, according to India Today.
India availability is unclear. India Today describes the India launch of the standard K100 as uncertain, as with the K100 Pro and Pro Max.
